Steve & Denise are hard at it in Anchorage prepping for the summer season—Still working on some summer guest bookings to fill the gaps, so call us if you want to book some time at Rainy Pass Lodge!

The snow is gone in Anchorage and spring is in the air.

The last of supplies of horse feed, diesel and groceries went out this week to keep caretakers Dick & Sharon as well as Buckey and the horses fed and warm until the first float plane can land when ice goes out.

Gearing up for the Iditarod... PDF Print E-mail

Denise is headed back out to the Lodge while Steve stays in Anchorage to work on R5sons TV show development and some boring stuff like keeping the business funded and rolling, prepping for Iditarod race, and a meet & greet with clients that are coming in to stay at Rainy Pass Lodge.

What's up with the rest of the gang?

Steve II is at the Lodge, checking in Alaska Ultrasport racers the first ones came in Tuesday.

Chase is still putting out fires and working extra shifts to ensure a good week off for Iditarod.

Shane, Clay and April (with camera in tow) took off on snow machines for the mining camp this week. Colton flies out tomorrow. All the family (yes Grandkids, too) will be at the lodge for Iditarod.

Looks like a great 10-day forecast and maybe a first of good weather for Iditarod in a few years.

As Promised... Check out the footage of the fire at Puntilla during the Iron Dog Race on youtube.com. Fair warning: There is some “spicy” language on the video (not from the Perrins boys, thank goodness!) so you might want to turn off the audio as you watch it.

The whole family took in niece Kendall's playoff hockey game—as her team qualified for the state playoffs in Fairbanks.  She had a great game and was very excited to see so many of her family and friends in the stands.  By her Dad's count, she had 14 fans!  The post game celebration included dinner with Steve, Denise and Colton. Congratulations Kendall!

Of course having 5 older boys as cousins comes with adventure—over Spring break, Kendall will head out to the Lodge for some ptarmigan hunting.
